Colombia Mission Trip

In 2014 The Emiliani Project began a project in the South American city of Medellín, Colombia to build a home for children without families. We call it Hogar de Cristo. Our goal is to rescue 150 or more orphaned and abandoned children from starvation, homelessness, drugs, violence, and prostitution. We are looking for volunteers to support our endeavor to save the lives of these children – and you can help!

Each year we provide trips where volunteers can participate in the construction the home; building classrooms, dormitories, bathrooms, repairs and other light construction. We also provide opportunities for you to work and help with the children of our home. There is always plenty of work to do.

Colombia Mission Trip Cost?

We ask that you make a $750 USD tax deductible donation per person to The Emiliani Project, which covers lodging, food, transportation and planned activities for the duration of the trip. Roundtrip airfare is not included. All money received is used to cover trip costs while in Colombia: unused funds are donated directly to the children’s home with whom we work.

Where is the Trip?

Medellín, Colombia. Our home, The Hogar de Cristo is located 30 minutes south of the city in a small town called Caldas. The home is nestled on top of a mountain at 7,000 ft of elevation with beautiful panoramic views of the countryside. It offers a perfect retreat setting for those who want to unplug and plunge into missionary work! We hope to see you on one of our trips!
